Trip to Tanzania:
Being out on the safaris, I felt like I could exhale for a change. I could simply exist without the pressure of needing to know what happens next.
Sometimes that’s all you need: time away from that never-ending race. A collection of moments that inspire the clarity needed to figure everything out.
In this place, it genuinely felt okay to give peace a chance.
I’ve often wondered if time should be felt.
Why are we always in a rush towards the end? Always in a rush towards nowhere?
Maybe we should remind ourselves once in a while to breathe. To simply be.
We can hope for better days but don’t rely on things to be perfect then. It does no good to idealize the future. Life is happening right now.
It’s OK if all we do each day is survive. Nature doesn’t rush yet everything has its place, its process. Why not us too?
Why not us?
We come up short because we’re never satisfied…
When it’s hot, we wish for cool air. When things are slow, we wish to build momentum.
We can’t force life to balance out and bend to our every plea. No matter how much we try and try.
Finding Peace of Mind
Instead, try to appreciate whatever tide you’re wading through. Even a slow season when things aren’t going the way you would’ve hoped.
Stagnation doesn’t necessarily mean we’re stuck. At least not forever.
Through our perceived lows, life is trying to tell us something. Making the best of our current circumstances can allow us to see the lessons to be learned.
And when things shift and change– because they will– we’ll be better prepared and more confident in moving forward.
In the stillness, we are granted an opportunity to look within. To reckon with our internal compass and ascertain our volition.
We will never be satisfied by this world and its fickle nature. Perhaps, however, we can grow to always find some comfort within ourselves.
Through stillness and chaos,
stagnation and change.
This post was all about we’re never satisfied.
